The challenge of abstract painting is to create meaningful images that people can communicate with, connect with and find a story in. The aim is to reconfigure the abstract elements in a credible way so that they become believable.

Through my creative process I seek to find something new, to reveal hidden emotions and give them tangible form with color. While painting, there is no separation between intellect, emotion and act. Through gestural arcs of colour and spontaneity I manipulate the canvas’ surface, building a harmonic stratum of vivid colour, line and texture.

I consistently challenge myself to produce exciting developments in composition, methodology and technique. Through passion, deep conviction, and directness and openness in communication, I aim to captivate the viewer long after the exhibition is over.

Mijn inspiratie voor mijn abstract werk haal ik vooral uit de werken van  Jackson Pollock , Mark Rothco en Barnett Newman ... allemaal top-artiesten die de kleur het verhaal zelf laten vertellen... Soms word het ook wel eens Colorfield Painting genoemd...

My inspiration for my abstract work I get mostly from the work of Jackson Pollock, Barnett Newman and Mark Rothco ... all top artists which let the color tell it's story... Sometimes also called Color Field Painting...

Creating is a very healing activity that helps me deal with the stresses of everyday life. Enjoying art helps you come alive and connect with other people.

I use color in my work to portray that to the viewer. My goal for every piece is to create a painting that allows the viewer to connect and become lost in their own imagination. 
I believe that art, like life is a journey. To me life is about experiences and emotions and so I feel that art is something that should not tell you what you are looking at, instead it should tell you what you are feeling.

I work with acrylic paints & oils on stretched canvas. My technique is one that I have developed over the course of the past thirty years with a lot of experimentation and time. 

When I am creating a painting it can take me hours, day's or even months, and is very in the moment. I don't always use traditional application methods, rather I have been known to drip, splash, pour, smear, use brush strokes and other impressions to ultimately express what has inspired each piece.

Art is my life and passion, and I truly feel blessed and give glory to God for giving me a talent that only he could give me and allowing me to share that talent with the world.
